Lawton Heritage Association


The Lawton Heritage Association, Inc. was organized in July 1973 for memorial, historical, educational, charitable, and patriotic purposes. Its purpose is to foster a love for local history; to revere the memory of those pioneers who blazed the way for present civilization and progress; to promote historic preservation in the community and revitalization of surrounding neighborhood; and to provide a public facility for civic and social activities. The Lawton Heritage Association is a non-profit corporation organized under the Laws of the State of Oklahoma.

istorical Tours

2nd Sunday and 4th Saturday of each month from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.


These are guided tours that include the history of the house and family. The cost is $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for children (Elementary School).  For further information on tours or rentals contact Lawton Heritage Association representatives at:  580-678- 3156. 

 

Beginning August 1st, 2008 the Home will be open weekly for self-guided tours,

12:00 pm to 3:00 pm every Thursday through Sunday.

Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day  and the month of January)

The Lawton Heritage Association is always searching for new energy and ideas and welcomes all members of the community, especially those interested in historic preservation, to join the LHA in its effort to preserve this important piece of Lawton’s history.  A tax-deductible $25 yearly membership fee helps to pay for utilities and maintenance of the home.  Included with your membership you will receive the LHA newsletter and current LHA E-Notes.
